Hi all,
Mike arrived at 12:04 am with 10 happy dogs and an even
happier, but
tired musher. Mike was able to past Bill Pinkham on the
trail
putting him into 10 place for now. One of Mikes goals
right now is to beat the fastest Siberian Quest record of 12 days 14
hours and 27
minutes. If he gets into Whitehorse before 2:33 am on
Friday, he
will be successful. In my opinion the team and Mike are
already the
best. Jim's gait has improved some yet he was not
having much fun
any longer. Mike keep him in the team for the 8 hour
mandatory
break. He walked him around and about 2 minutes before
leaving he
decided that Jim needed to stay with me. He was
extremely upset
about not having Jim finish, but it was the right
decision. After
shedding a tear and giving Jim a big hug, I took him to
the truck. I
cried a bit with Jim and told him how much we loved
him. He is
resting now in the truck. We are heading toward
Whitehorse to
eagerly wait for the awesome Team Tsuga. The vets
continue to praise
how well the team looks and how happy they are arriving
and leaving
each checkpoint. We will see you all in Whitehorse!!
Sue and the best handlers out there.
