February 21st, 2009 - "Update After Dawson"

Hi Everyone.
Dawson was awesome!!!  The dogs were is much better shape than last year.  After the first 12 hours, Logan, Hood and Lotus were ready to go.  It is just amazing to see how eager they were.  Overall the Dawson 36 hours went very well.  Moe spent the whole time at camptaking care of dogs, eating and sleeping.  She did a great job and the team is very grateful to have had her help.  Thanks Moe!!  The hardest part of Dawson was having so many dogs in the truck to take care of.  After caring for the team I had to care for the "truck" dogs.  I would have gotten a whole lot more sleep without dogs on the truck, but it is part of the race.  No complaints, just tired. Wilson is still sore, but all the other dogs are doing great and would love to join the race again, if they were allowed.  After Mike and the team left at 4:30 am, Moe and I went to the hotel room to sleep for 2 hours and then we broke down camp and headed to Whitehorse.  Last night I got 6 hours of sleep in a row.  I got up at 5am and drove to Fairbanks.  I am "home" right now and looking forward to some solid uninterrupted sleep.  I will be heading to Circle tomorrow.  Too tired to make complete sentences.  I'll update more from Circle.  Good night everyone.  Team Tsuga is determined to do the best we can.
Sue
